การเรียกร้องให้สหรัฐอเมริกาถอดไทยจากบัญชีประเทศที่ต้องจับตามองพิเศษ หรือ PWL
เมื่อวันที่ 7-8 กุมภาพันธ์ 2554 ได้เดินทาง ไปพบหน่วยงานภาครัฐและเอกชนของ สหรัฐฯ อาทิ สำ นักงานผู้แทนการค้าสหรัฐฯ หรือ USTR กระทรวงพาณิชย์ กระทรวงการ ต่างประเทศ ศุลกากร สำ นักงานสิทธิบัตรและ เครื่องหมายการค้า (USPTO) เพื่อให้ข้อมูลความ คืบหน้าสถานการณ์ทรัพย์สินทางปัญญาของไทย และผลักดันให้สหรัฐฯ ถอดไทยจากบัญชีประเทศที่ต้องจับตามองเป็นพิเศษ (PWL)
เมื่อวันที่ 8 เมษายน 2554 รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงพาณิชย์ (นายอลงกรณ์ พลบุตร) ได้พบหารือกับ Mrs. Barbara Weisel ผู้ช่วยผู้แทนการค้าสหรัฐฯ USTR เกี่ยวกับการจัดอันดับประเทศไทยตามกฎหมายการค้าสหรัฐฯ มาตรา 301 พิเศษ ประจำ ปี 2554 ณ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงพาณิชย์ยังได้เน้น ย้ำ ถึงการให้ความสำ คัญของรัฐบาลไทยต่อการหารือกับเอกชนเจ้าของสิทธิบัตร รวมทั้งผู้แทนอุตสาหกรรมยา
Attempts towards Removal by the United States of America of Thailand from the Priority Watch List (PWL)
On 7th and 8th February 2011, representatives of the Department of Intellectual Property met with officials and agencies in public and private sectors of the United States of America such as the USTR, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of State, U.S. customs agencies and USPTO for providing these officials and agencies with information on situations in Thailand in connection with intellectual property protection in the hope that the United States of America would remove Thailand from the Priority Watch List (PWL).
On 8th April 2011, Deputy Minister of Commerce (Mr. Alongkorn Pollabutra) met Mrs. Barbara Weisel, Deputy USTR to discuss the status of Thailand under section 301 Special for 2011 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
